Student conduct
Mount Allison is a close-knit community of learners where respectful living and inquiry are valued and upheld. The °µÍø51 uses policies to set forth its expectations for acceptable student conduct in both academic and non-academic matters.
- Academic Integrity Policy — sets the °µÍø51's standard for student conduct in academic matters
- Student Code of Community Standards and Accountability — sets the °µÍø51's standards for student conduct in non-academic matters
Other policies that speak specifically to student conduct in other areas that overlap with the Student Code of Conduct:
- Residence Life Code of Conduct
- Anti-Racism Education and Response Policy
- Sexualized Violence Policy
- Liquor Policy
- Policy on Students with Disabilities
- International Travel Involving Students
- Academic and Athletic Travel Involving Students (domestic travel)
- Policy on Surveys of the Student Experience of Courses
- Personal Information Protection Policy — PIPEDA

Where standards are not met — and the rights, safety, and dignity of students are infringed upon — °µÍø51 policies are employed to provide a framework for review, sanction, and resolution. As an institution of higher learning, Mount Allison desires for educative outcomes that promote personal accountability and restoration of/within the community. Where this is not possible or appropriate, more directed and sometimes punitive measures are applied.
In all things, administration of these policies seeks to be clear, fair, and timely. To this end, the information on this page is designed to help students understand and navigate the various policies that apply to their conduct in and out of the classroom.
Complaints
Students are accountable under the Student Code of Conduct for their behaviour on °µÍø51 premises, when acting as °µÍø51 delegates or designated representatives away from campus, and during their participation in off-campus trips and events that are organized or sanctioned by the °µÍø51.
For complaints against students under the Student Code of Community Standards and Accountability or the Residence Life Code of Conduct, fill out the Conduct Disclosure Form (pdf).
Complaints must normally be submitted within 30 days of the incident in question. Anonymous complaints will not be processed. The Director of Student Life will normally respond to complaints within 10 calendar days of the complaint's submission.
Any member of the °µÍø51 community (e.g. student, staff, faculty) may bring a complaint against a student. For questions, please contact studentlife@mta.ca.
